Terrain 14 Animated Projection

Scope:
Event Branding
Illustration
Social Media Design
Merch Design
Animation

The Challenge:
Every year, Terrain in Spokane, Washington, puts on the largest artist showcase in the Pacific Northwest. They invite a new artist/designer to create all the marketing materials. For the 14th Annual event, I had the honor of creating all the branding.

The Solution:
When I think of Spokane, some of the first things that come to mind are the midcentury architecture left over from Expo '74, playing pinball at my local bar, and Sunday afternoons watching public television. So naturally, my vision exists somewhere between Peter Max and the Sesame Street pinball counting animation.
My vision incorporated several Spokane landmarks and an inclusive community of Spokane residents "bouncing" around the playfield. Visuals included everything from posters, t-shirts, signage, social media posts, and animated projections.

The Results:
Terrain 14 has drawn thousands of visitors each year, and continues to do so. Many of the assets I created were used to decorate the event space, and the animation I made was projected onto the building's exterior, functioning as an animated billboard for the event.
A t-shirt and poster were also produced and sold as merch, providing additional revenue for the nonprofit.
